17 Weeks: Onion

"Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints. "

How far along? 17wks & 6 days!

Maternity clothes? Still in that frumpy in between stage where nothing really fits as it should. I can't wait to finally look pregnant instead of fat!

Stretch marks? No stretch marks and I'm applying anti-stretch mark cream.

Sleep? I'm only comfortable sleeping on my left side, which isn't very comfortable to do the entire night.

Best moment this week? Interviewing a home birth midwife team!

Movement? Still feeling flutters and really hoping that this is the baby!!

Food cravings? I craved eggs and peaches for the majority of my 1st trimester and now that I'm in my 2nd trimester, I'm obsessed with all fruit but addicted to mangoes!! Still this!

Gender? I have no clue, we find out in 6 loooong days!!

Labor signs? Nope.

What I miss? Being able to wear heels 24/7!

What I'm looking forward to? Finding out the sex in 6 days!!

Weekly Wisdom: Definitely take a hospital tour and ask questions to figure out what you are comfortable with.

Milestones: More fluttering :)

Emotions: I'm beyond excited to find out the sex and anxious to see our little one again!

  4. Thanks Anne! Not that I've done this before but I highly recommend hiring a doula for a hospital birth to act as your advocate if you can. I fully expected to receive negative feedback on that post but was pleasantly surprised!!
